Visiting the farm
We welcome visitors who want to see syntropic farming in practice. The farm is a working project — not a finished showcase — and we think that makes it more interesting, not less. Get in touch ahead of time so we can plan a visit that works for both of us.

Can I come visit the farm? ›
Yes — we love having visitors who are genuinely curious. Just get in touch beforehand so we can organise a time. We ask that you arrive with an open mind and, if possible, good boots.
What is syntropic farming and where can I learn more? ›
Syntropic farming is an agricultural system developed by Ernst Götsch that works with natural forest succession. Rather than fighting the land's tendencies, it observes and accelerates them. The best starting point is Ernst Götsch's own documentaries, widely available online. We are also happy to walk you through what it looks like in practice here.
Is this a commercial operation? ›
Not primarily. Finca Alazán is a community farming project guided by ecological and social principles, not profit. We may eventually sell surplus produce locally, but that is a consequence of good farming, not the purpose of it.
Can I get involved or volunteer? ›
Absolutely. We are a community project and we believe the farm benefits from more hands and more perspectives. If you want to come and work alongside us for a day, a week, or longer, write to us and we'll figure out something that makes sense.
Do you share seeds or plant material? ›
Yes. We believe in keeping seeds in common and are happy to share what we save with people who will plant and care for them. Get in touch and let us know what you are working with.
